The Cover: Final Draft

Altercations made:
* more coverlines as suggested; a list of popular artists along the right and a feature for Mumford & Sons at the bottom.
* smoothened Leanna's skin a little more, as before it appeared smudged and had evidently been airbrushed - although not very well!
* some coverlines were adjusted and resized, as I believed they took up too much space or looked awkward where they were, therefore looking overcrowded ("The Evolution of Leanna Rees" headline was shortened, "Best of British" badge was shifted further to the top right corner etc).

Contents Planning
The contents page is vital, as it is often what persuades people to purchase the magazine. Many will buy the issue depending on what features are included among this page, so it must follow a layout that is easy to understand and not too busy. Below are some examples from various popular magazines already within the market:

Ideas for Features
* Album/Single/Gig Reviews
* Upcoming Bands and Releases -> "Ones To Watch For 2010"
* General music news
* Interviews with other artists
* Charts eg. Top 10 Songs/Artists of the Week
* Live Backstage -> Festivals
* Special "one-off" features -> records of the year, best of British, articles on particular genres etc.
* Letters or readers opinions?
CD Research
My interview with Leanna is focused solely on her music and the release of her upcoming album, so I believed it would be a good idea to create an actual cover for the CD to create a sense of reality for the product and present a music magazines usual conventions. I researched other female artists within similar genres, and planned to use some of their album art as inspiration for my own.
Most covers shown appear to be shot at close-ups, so that we are able to see and recognise the artists face, therefore I intend on doing the same.
